Last Thursday evening we had the first Berkeley BurdaStyle Sewing Club down at Waterside Workshops (http://www.watersideworkshops.org/). It was so great to meet fellow Burda enthusiasts and get some personal sewing done! Since I'm really, really in the need of "nice" new clothes I started working on this blouse from BurdaStyle:
I dug deep into the stash and pulled out a black and white polka dot rayon challis for this project. I think it will look darling! But first things first, I'm tracing the pattern off in my size (so that others in the group can use it) and making a muslin so that there aren't any oopsies with the fit. If there's one thing I've learned about sewing it's taking the time to do it right the first time. Measure twice, cut once and all of that...
The next BurdaStyle Sewing Club gathering is on Thursday, June 11 from 6-9 p.m. If you want to join us, please let me know!

Hey! Do you guys still do the Burda sewing club? I'd love to get in on the action!
Sorry, the club is not active any more but there might be other Bay Area clubs listed on BurdaStyle.
